Lightning Pizza Day

Eight years after buying two pizzas for 10,000 BTC in the first real-world bitcoin purchase, Laszlo Hanyecz returned to buy pizza again -- this time over the Lightning Network. Laszlo paid a friend in London via a Lightning payment, who then ordered the pizza locally for delivery. The transaction settled in seconds with negligible fees, demonstrating how far Bitcoin's payment infrastructure had come since those original 10,000 BTC Papa John's pizzas on May 22, 2010.
