Bitmain releases the Antminer S1, its first Bitcoin mining product, delivering 180 GH/s at 80-200 watts. It was the beginning of what would become the most dominant mining hardware brand in Bitcoin history.
Founded by Jihan Wu and Micree Zhan, Bitmain would go on to produce the S-series miners that secured the majority of Bitcoin's hashrate for over a decade. The Antminer brand became synonymous with Bitcoin mining itself.
