On January 10, 2024, the SEC approves 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs simultaneously, including BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC), and offerings from ARK, Bitwise, and others. The approval came after over a decade of rejections dating back to the Winklevoss twins' first filing in 2013. The moment Bitcoin got a seat at the table of traditional finance. IBIT would become the fastest-growing ETF in history, reaching $10 billion in assets in just seven weeks. Over $4 billion flowed into the new ETFs on day one.
