Bitfinex, one of the largest Bitcoin exchanges, is hacked for approximately 120,000 BTC (~$72 million). The stolen funds would later be partially recovered by the US DOJ in 2022, leading to the arrest of Ilya Lichtenstein and Heather Morgan.
